By Car

We strongly advise you not to come by car unless absolutely necessary, since parking is very restricted on the University of Leicester campus. If you wish to come by car, one option is to use the Park & Ride bus services. The park and ride car parks are distributed around the city and operates every 15 minutes to the city centre, from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday. There are three sites, at Birstall (LE4 4NP), Enderby (LE19 2AB) and Meynell’s Gorse (LE3 3LF). Unfortunately, only single day tickets are available.

If you do need to bring your car,  delegates can get a 10% discount on their parking with yourparkingspace , by quoting “PGG5310”, when you book online.

There are parking spaces available at the venue for Blue Badge holders. Please contact us before the close of registration on 30th November 2019.

Directions

From the south – take the M1, leave at junction 21 and follow the signs for Leicester along the A563 /  A5199 (Welford Road) for easiest access to the University of Leicester.

From the north – take the M1, leave at junction 22 and follow the signs for Leicester along the A6. Then follow the signs for the City Centre along the A563 and then University of Leicester along A5199 (Welford Road).

By Train

There are direct train services to Leicester from many UK towns and cities, many at least hourly. For other places, there is usually a simple change en route at Birmingham or in London. Trains for Leicester from London depart from Kings Cross / St. Pancras International, and are run by East Midlands Railway. During the daytime the trains depart from St. Pancras approximately every 30 minutes, and depart approximately every hour during the late evening. The journey time is about 90 minutes.

Leicester Railway Station is on London Road, a 10 minute walk from the University of Leicester Campus.

 

Coach services

Leicester is served by National Express Coaches arriving at St. Margaret’s Bus station. Connections to local bus services to the University run from St. Margaret’s, and a taxi rank (10 minutes ride) is located outside the bus station.

 

Registration desk at Leicester

There are a number of entrances into the University of Leicester Campus. The easiest way to find the registration desk is to enter the campus from the Mayor’s Walk entrance (indicated by the green pin on the map below), and turn left in front of the Charles Wilson Building (indicated by “Leicester University Catering Services”), on to the Upper Concourse – the Bennett Building entrance is straight ahead.
